This piece was inspired by the book the Sword & the Shield along with a digital art piece that depicted Martin Luther King Jr. & Malcolm X. This piece was created without using a traditional paintbrush and emphasis mark making to draw out the facial characteristics of both men. Some of their ideas represented in words can be found overlayed onto the negative space.
